Sweet Pillow Talk

A while back when my niece Kate (turned 6 years old this week) was looking though my sketchbook with me and  then we just played. Here is the post about Just Play. Well, after a while she went back to a page in my sketchbook and said “How do I do that?”  In my mind it was just a bunch of doodling and a splash of color not a masterpiece! Nothing special!

I had it made into a pillow. NOW it is a Masterpiece! This pillow is 17 x 17.

I love how kids see things in a different light! I’m going to put on my kiddie goggles and head to the studio for a little painting!Watch out a masterpiece is in my future! SMILE!

Thanks for stopping in today!

Sometimes at night, I just set with my sketchbook and play (usually while watching a baseball game). I use to worry that each page had to be a masterpiece. Now, I know that each page doesn’t have to be a masterpiece. With each page you learn something new. Plus if you are having fun just playing around that is enough!

So, here is a peek into my sketchbook. I’ve started sketching again. It feels pretty good, I will tell you!

Then, of course a couple of watercolor pieces. I just love the peerless watercolor. They make it so you can watercolor just about anywhere.

Hope you find sometime to play today! Thanks for stopping in! Oh, and I am getting close to my 500th blog post since I moved to wordpress. So, I think middle of next week.I will be doing a giveaway! So be on the look out for that!

Boundless Journey

This weekend, I was able to get away on a journey with a very special lady! We got in the car at 6:30 am and arrived back home at midnight. We causally made our way to Galena. Roaming around the streets of the down town and then we wandered back towards home. Stopping at any place we found interesting.  It was a great time. Even found my favorite ice cream Espresso Oreo! YUMMY!!!

What have I been up to creatively? I made a pair of earrings!

“Boundless Journey”

These teal butterflies really spoke to me with it being Sexually Abuse and Rape Awareness Month. One you are in the middle of sexually abuse you feel like you are in a boundless journey. Not knowing how to get out, you just keep floating in hope of finally being able to soar. I am hear to tell you that even with battered wings you can SOAR! Just believe and take one day at a time.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful Monday! Thanks for stopping in to visit!

Happy National Rubber Eraser Day

Yesterday was Rubber Eraser Day, who thinks up these fun little Holidays! Any ways, I thought it was the perfect time to share this fast, fun, and cheap  little project with you.

Last year, in a grab bag I got 50 …It’s a boy pencils! At the time I thought what the heck am I going to do with these. So, they have been sitting around my house collecting dust until Chelsea showed us at Stamp Club how to cover pencils with washi tape. So, I sanded my pencils a little then covered them with washi tape! Also as a pencil top eraser and a fun little tag!

Then, I thought well heck if you are giving these as a gift. You are going to need to give more erasers with the pencils. So, I made this cute little box to put the erasers in.

Don’t you think this would make a great gift with a notebook ?

Happy Monday, everyone!

Thanks for stopping to to visit!

I heart macro

This week my camera BROKE, it is going to the Doctor on Monday! So, this week I only had my little point and shoot and my iPhone. Tracey and I were lucky enough to get out one day and go for a beautiful walk in Nature. We went to a new spot and just as we came out of the woods a guy came running out after he spotted /chased by a BLACK BEAR, we were only about 5 minutes from seeing. Excited and scarey all at the same time.

Okay here are the photos, I took with my iPhone:

This next couple were taken with my little point and shoot canon. I understand the “circle of life” not saying that sometimes, I like it very much. This sweet little bunny, I was only able to save from being lunch from a big nasty crow for a little while. His brother was not so lucky, the crow got him on the first scoop :(

Thanks so much for stopping in to visit and check out my photos!

Enjoy your Sunday!

Another week of above average temps plus the boys being off school for spring break lead to lots of nature walks. I was able to get out with Tracey multiple times. I’m so blessed to have such an awesome SIL! I am very thankful for her friendship. Love ya, Trace!

Okay, here are my favorite Macros:

BJP- March

Well, here it is April 1st and I am finally done with my March Bead Journal Project. Yep, I know a day late and a dollar short! LOL!

Okay, so for this month I wanted to do something pretty special since March is my birthday Month and this year I celebrated the big 4-0!

So, let me tell you about this piece. The collage is the same size as the past two month (January and February). I used the words wishing heart on it since a heart is my symbol. I see them every where I go. Love just seems to be all around me.

Proof this is my coffee:

Next, I used the black winged shaped beads to symbolize my animal totem, bats! Freshwater pearls to represent my love for the water and being a Pisces. Blue and pink to represent the sky line.

“I wish you bluebirds in the Spring
To give your heart a song to sing
And then a kiss,
But more than this,
I wish you love!”

Written by: A. A. Beach & C. Trenet

Always follow your wishing heart!

Thanks for checking out my project this month. I hope to be done early next month and not feel the pressure of the dead line. Happy Sunday!

Hugs,
