The prompt this week at P52 is cabin fever! I can honestly say that this year I have not gotten cabin fever to bad since it has been such a mild winter. I have been able to get out in nature quite a bit. I do long to get up to the family farm (cabin) and connect with nature. Since, I  can’t make it to the family farm yet, I found this sweet little cabin!

The best remedy for those who are afraid, lonely or unhappy is to go outside, somewhere where they can be quiet, alone with the heavens, nature and God. Because only then does one feel that all is as it should be and that God wishes to see people happy, amidst the simple beauty of nature. As long as this exists, and it certainly always will, I know that then there will always be comfort for every sorrow, whatever the circumstances may be. And I firmly believe that nature brings solace in all troubles.                                                     By Ann Frank

I want to let everyone know! I was able to find a home for the sweet Blue tick coonhound  (Blue that is what we called him), I found in the woods over the weekend! He has gone to a good family in the town, I live in!

Blue,  thank you for coming into our lives! It was my pleasure to help you find lovely home! You will always be in my heart! You be good boy!!!!

The other thing, that this experience made me want to do is volunteer for a local organization called Friends of Noah.  When I could not get the Humane Society to take “Blue”! Friends of Noah, was willing to help me! To lead me in a  direction even though the fosters homes were all full. They cared about “Blue” and thanked me for saving his life! Bless them!

Before, I show off my macro shots I want to tell you about yesterday’s trip out in Nature. Since Tracey, and I were able to get out on a nature walk earlier in the week. My boys were begging to go out on Saturday. The weather was nice enough, so off we went. We pull into the park as another car is pulling out. Then another car comes into the park and turns around.   I pull into a parking area close to this one tree, I want to check out. I think it might have an owl nest in it. As, I am scanning the woods for the tree.

I see this looking back at me:

I start looking around not one person or car is in the park. So, I get out and see if the dog is friendly. He is really thin and shaking. he does come over to me. I finally let the boys get out of the car. We feed him some french fries.  As he is eating my boys look around the area he was bedded down in. They find a teeny tiny food bowl and water dish. At this point, I say some really bad words and call Tracey to ask for her help.  Tracey was so awesome making phone calls and really getting NO help for this abandon dog. Meet us at the park with some dog food. Helped get him to the humane society.

Turns out that we are in a township and the Humane Society will not take him. No officials from that district will call us back and to this point still  have not! So here, I am stuck with the choice of walking  away knowing that he will die out in the woods or taking him and finding him a home.

What kind of person dumps their dog in a park ? What kind of person thinks that is OKAY? My boys learned many lessons yesterday. I could not be more proud of them.

The prompt this week is true love. I have been married to my sweetheart since 1999. We both love the out doors for very different reason. He is a avid hunter and the only thinking I want to shoot is nature with my camera! Never the less being out in nature is something we have in common. This heart on the tree, shows our true love!

One of the things,  I have tried to teach my boys is the importance of making things from the heart! We have been planning Valentine’s for way over a month!

We used paint, stencils, stickers, tape, ribbon and a ballon. Ben had the best time making it and was so proud of it!

Remember a while back I gave you some sneak peeks of some project I was working on??? Well they were for the Fiskarteers blog. I was given two new punches – the Jenni Bowlin Blue Ribbon and Grandm’s Doily.

First, I made this little matchbox! I used the circle part of the blue ribbon punch to make the pom pom on the top of the box. Made a stencil out of Grandma’s doily.

Next up:

A bag full of candy for my sweetheart!

Then:

Of course then you need a little card and envelope to go with your gift!

Finally:

I made two pendants. One simple and one beaded!

Look at the different ways, I was able to use these punches!

Today is my youngest sons, Birthday! First thing he said when he got up today was…..Now, I am 7 years old! Ben is so fun of life, wonder, and excitement.

He dreams of many  things in life. Benner wants to be a botanist when he grows up. He loves videos games (Mario baseball is his favorite right now). Still loves to cuddle up me. Is very outgoing! Ben hates to see people unhappy. Loves candy, donuts, and ice cream.  Loves Music and Art! Of course loves basketball like his Mama!

Benner, I hope you follow every dream you have! You can do anything you put your heart too! Happy 7th Birthday, B!

With Valentine’s Day coming up next week. We are busy making school Valentines. I love to help the boys do this as much as Halloween treats! SMILE!

Today, I made my Valentine for my hubby. Nothing like giving a handmade Valentine! I kept it pretty simple. Made a lovely background with stencils and paint. Then used my Amuse Studio heart dies to cut out three. Pop it up on top of red paper! Added some bakers twine, staples and a sentiment.  Then I was all set!
